The Parade

Finally, a dream come true!  As a child, I would sit and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on the television while my mom prepared whatever we were taking to Grandma's for the holiday meal.  I would ogle at the balloons, always looking for Snoopy and wonder what it would be like to be there, in the city, in the midst of all that holiday excitement.

Now I know and it was even better than I ever could have imagined!

Where to begin...

I am so overwhelmed by all of the photos and memories I have acquired from our Thanksgiving Holiday in NYC that I do not know where to begin.  So I guess I will just start with thank you! 

Thank you for inviting us yet again to celebrate Thanksgiving and explore your great city.  Thank you for making childhood wishes come true and for creating memories that will last us a lifetime.  Thank you for making us Lemon and Swiss Chard Lasagna and fresh cinnamon rolls for us to enjoy in your cozy nest and for making home made pumpkin pie and Zabar's coffee for breakfast.  I could go on and on but most importantly I want to thank you for being you... a patient, kind, loving and giving young woman with so much of an appreciation for where you are, what you do, and what life has to offer you.

Valley of the Sun

The privilege was all mine when I was asked to attend a national meeting for my line of business in Phoenix this week.  Though my time was mostly spent in conference rooms or lecture halls, I got enough glimpses of this beautiful city to make me want to come back someday and explore her beautiful surroundings.

Her flat landscape interrupted only by jagged mounds was unlike anything I have ever seen.  And though a short one hour walk before returning to the airport and 2 cab rides were the extent of my exploring, I got a taste for the friendliness of the people and the beauty of the downtown area. 

The new architecture mixed with the old and the sun's rays combined to make for beautiful lighting and shadows throughout the city.  It glowed morning and night!  And of course there was the cacti...which surprisingly I had to search for!  Palm trees were everywhere and made for a beautiful up lit canopy at an evening reception we had, and the South Mountains, the largest municipal park in the world, spanned the entire southern view from the city!

Oh how I love to travel and see new places!  I will make another trip to Phoenix a priority and I am even considering emailing Samantha Brown to see if I could possibly be her protege! Ahhhh...one can only dream!

Greenville, SC makes Forbes top ten!

I know I sound like a broken record but Forbes Magazine is now backing me up so I must continue!

Thanks to our downtown's eclectic mix of restaurants, art, sports, great festivals and great people, Greenville, South Carolina has made the Forbes top ten list of America's best downtowns. We rank up there with cities like Chicago, San Antonio, Burlington, and Indianapolis, and if you come visit, you'll find out why!

With tree lined streets, outdoor cafe's, and a river meandering it's way through town, Greenville wraps her arm around you like an old friend and welcomes you in. Whether strolling through Fall's Park, catching a Drive game at our mini "Green Monster", or just stopping at one of our lively watering holes, you can't help but settle in and enjoy! We are even going to have outdoor ice skating this year in a somewhat Rockefeller tradition on Main Street! Stay tuned for future photos of my husband twirling me around on the ice!! He can't wait!
