2011 Holiday Snippets

My 2011 Christmas was not just filled with decorating, baking, shopping and wrapping. It was most importantly filled with traveling, hugging, 18th birthdaying, kid-admiring, family-loving, and reminiscing!  I even got to see snow!  Perfection!

Bright Copper Kettles, Choo-Choo Trains, and Taxis

I wish this post could be scratch and sniff! Yankee Candle has a new line this season called Favorite Things. They have Raindrops on Roses, Crisp Apple Strudel, Blue Satin Sashes, Warm Woolen Mittens, and Moon on Their Wings. My favorite of the bunch is Bright Copper Kettles!  Mmmmm....It smells so good!

I got a pleasant surprise when Zach asked me why his Christmas train wasn't set up under the tree this year!  I guess I didn't think he really cared about it anymore but I was wrong!  Up to the attic I went and within minutes or maybe a little more we once again had his train circling under our tree.  There must be something about him having a girlfriend that's making him a little sappy!  Whatever it is, I love it!

This little New York taxi is making her debut on our tree this year!  Alexa got it for us last year and I love how it shimmers and is a constant reminder of all our fun in the big city!  She always picks just the right gifts!  Now if I can only keep it safe from our four-legged problem child!

Continued Merry Christmasing!!

Merry Christmas from Jake!

Yes Jake!  He just could not go one more day without showing you all his Christmas Cheer!  He begged me to photograph him in front of the tree donning his Christmas garb!  Can't you tell?

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Decking the Halls...

There is nothing like completing my hall decking to get me in the mood for the season!  Everything looks festive, the candles add that extra shimmer and a fire makes it extra cozy!  Now all I need to do is  bake, shop, wrap, and relax!  Fa-ra-ra-ra-ra....!!!!

These are a few of my favorite things...

The skyline at night from the Brooklyn Bridge, Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick's Cathedral,
the Highline, New York Public Library, and Central Park...I can go on and on!  With the views of these places always changing in the light, it's like you're always seeing them for the first time!  I love that!
