Bright Copper Kettles, Choo-Choo Trains, and Taxis

I wish this post could be scratch and sniff! Yankee Candle has a new line this season called Favorite Things. They have Raindrops on Roses, Crisp Apple Strudel, Blue Satin Sashes, Warm Woolen Mittens, and Moon on Their Wings. My favorite of the bunch is Bright Copper Kettles!  Mmmmm....It smells so good!

I got a pleasant surprise when Zach asked me why his Christmas train wasn't set up under the tree this year!  I guess I didn't think he really cared about it anymore but I was wrong!  Up to the attic I went and within minutes or maybe a little more we once again had his train circling under our tree.  There must be something about him having a girlfriend that's making him a little sappy!  Whatever it is, I love it!

This little New York taxi is making her debut on our tree this year!  Alexa got it for us last year and I love how it shimmers and is a constant reminder of all our fun in the big city!  She always picks just the right gifts!  Now if I can only keep it safe from our four-legged problem child!

Continued Merry Christmasing!!

Where to begin...

I am so overwhelmed by all of the photos and memories I have acquired from our Thanksgiving Holiday in NYC that I do not know where to begin.  So I guess I will just start with thank you!

Thank you for inviting us yet again to celebrate Thanksgiving and explore your great city.  Thank you for making childhood wishes come true and for creating memories that will last us a lifetime.  Thank you for making us Lemon and Swiss Chard Lasagna and fresh cinnamon rolls for us to enjoy in your cozy nest and for making home made pumpkin pie and Zabar's coffee for breakfast.  I could go on and on but most importantly I want to thank you for being you... a patient, kind, loving and giving young woman with so much of an appreciation for where you are, what you do, and what life has to offer you.

Thank you for sharing yourself with us!

Goodbye 2010!

Well, December 12th seems like ages ago (that was the date of my last blog posting) but so much of my time was spent enjoying the season, family, and travel that there wasn't much time left for blogging.  So here is a sampling of Christmas 2010 memories. Thank you family for your presence in my life and for sharing these special moments together.

Without Alexa, I am sure my cookies would have remained undecorated and I would have struggled getting all the presents wrapped.

Santa is always watching at our house!

There is always a Christmas Eve birthday celebration! 17!

Jake loved his new Christmas presents!

Christmas Morning! Then off to Nana and Papa's house for time with the rest of the Fam!

Sweet Lucca...

Sleepy Audrey...

First Chrismas snow in Greenville since 1963!

Balloon Fun!

Still snowing!

What better way to end our evening than to have a family snowball fight!  Thanks Nana!

Capping off Christmas night with a little frolicking at home!

Vistiting Ohio meant breakfast with dad's side of the family...

A visit to Grandma and Grandpa B.

Spending time with my brother, sister-in-law and adorable neice and nephews...

A visit to Heggy's with mom.  This was my favorite place to go as a child for nothing but a cheesburger, fries with butter (yep!), and a bowl of chili.  I never seemed to have enough room for dessert.  I remember waiting in line for what seemed like hours to be seated!
I ended my visit with a little drive by my childhood home.  There is nothing like the holidays to make you a little nostalgic and reflective!

Goodbye 2010!  Hello 2011!
