Happy Thanksgiving! Part 1

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday!

For me, Thanksgiving means gathering with family and friends, sharing great food and laughing about the same things every year, over and over again.  It means little ones preparing for a month of  Christmas anticipation, big ones preparing for a month of shopping, decorating, and baking, and family pets ready for all the hustle and bustle to settle down.

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to appreciate being surrounded by the ones we love and to realize how much we miss those who couldn't be with us.  Thanksgiving is warm and fuzzy!

The following pictures have been made possible by Lucca's adorable headress he wore for his Thanksgiving Presentation at school.  Thank you Lucca!

Just a side note...Some of the participants enjoyed this more than others!  Jasmine just refused completely, Squiggy was nowhere to be found, and I forgot to have someone snap a pic of me!

Thankful for the chance to travel...

A week from today I will be in Philadelphia for my company's annual vendor show and manager's meetings.  Last year I had the privlege of having my husband go with me! We explored the history, character and charm of this wonderfully surprising city together.

Unfortunately, this year I will go it alone and I will really miss having him there.  We had such a great time searching for all the Philly touristy spots I had marked off in my travel book and fitting in as much sight-seeing as possible in our short lived visit.

The Rocky steps and statue, the Rodin museum, Independence Hall, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Moriarty's (a few times!), and the Liberty Bell were just some of the places we acquainted ourselves with while there.  The City of Brotherly Love did not disappoint!!

So, again, I will miss my travel companion but will count on his company next year so I can show him all of the new places I find while I am there on my own.  I will also count on his company to enjoy yet one more Guiness at Moriarty's because it just won't be the same without him!

Giving Thanks to Visitors

Today was a day for visitors.  Big visitors and little ones too!

My day started at work with a visit from "THE" Martha Stewart!  She came to BMW to see what the BMW Manufacturing plant was all about and to custom order a BMW X3 online!  She will air the episode she and her film crew shot on December 6 or 7.

She was spotted last night in Greenville dining at a local restaurant and at Home Depot.  This morning before she came to the Zentrum, she stopped at Starbucks where the barrista asked what name she should put on her cup!  Oh these young folk!  Don't even know a star when they see one!

Anyway, what a treat it was to watch the whole process and be personally introduced to Martha!

Good Times!

After the "Martha" experience, little Miss Abbey Ianuario came to visit with all her new teeth and she brought Mee Maw and Papa along too!  Love this little piece of Pie!  She has her very own cell phone and loves keys!

Sadly, little Miss Abbey had to leave but Rowan arrived and kept us all giggling!  What a sweet, funny boy he is and he is growing so fast!  His mommy and daddy sure are lucky!  Come back soon Rowan!

Though I had many wonderful visitors today, we still are awaiting little Noah!  But he will arrive when he is ready and then he can come to the Zentrum to play too!  Such a pretty mommy!

Today I am thankful for blog postings!

Blog postings allow me to electronically journal and chronical my daily goings on to friends and family and to serve as a way for me to preserve moments and memories that may otherwise fade with time in a unique way.

Now not all memories fade with time.  Some will stay with you for the rest of your life but still need to be recorded just because it's fun to share. So share I will!

Today, my husband took a big step!   Huge in fact!  He practiced 1 1/2 hours of yoga with me at 5:00 this morning.  Yes! Really!  He even completed the practice without complaining!  It may sound as if I am teasing a bit, and maybe I am, just a little, but I must say I am very proud of him and he did a great job!  I have tried many times to get him to try and he finally obliged.

I love you honey and I can't wait for our next yogic experience next Thursday!  Namaste my little trooper!

Counting my blessings for...

1.  Courteous drivers who let you out in 5 o'clock traffic when no one else will.

2.  The patience I had today while waiting for that courteous driver!!!!

3.  The time change, once again, because when you have to be at work on Tuesday mornings at 6:15, it is so nice to see daylight so early in the morning!

4.  Word templates that let me produce creative looking Holiday Party invitations for my staff.  I am not the most imaginative person in the world but I look like it!  Perception is everything!

5.  Funny IT guys you get on the phone!  I had to have the help desk set up a temporary password for a guest at work and he gave me the password 8675309!  It took me a minute but then I started busting out laughing!  Jenny! I got your number!!   This guy made my day!

What are you thankful for today?

Things I am thankful for today...

Since Thanksgiving is less than 4 weeks away I decided this month I am going to devote my blog to things I am thankful for.

Today's list includes but is not limited to the following!

  1. My "handyman husband" for removing my old and installing my new dishwasher.  I promise I did not sabotage the old one but I must say I thoroughly enjoy the look and sound (or lack of sound) of the new one!  Thanks honey!
  2. Beautiful Saturdays where I can go along with my "handyman husband" and my "junkyard dog" to the dump, in an old truck, listening to country music!  It doesn't get much better than this!!  Seriously!!
  3. The end to daylight savings time because it gives me an extra hour to my weekend!  And yes, I am with you Alexa!  I don't mind a bit that it gets dark earlier!  I feel like I have more down time in the evening at home.
  4. Cold days and nights because it gives me an excuse to build a fire which makes my cozy home even more cozy!
  5. My adorable antique Bailey's coffee cups that wink at me every time I walk by!  Thanks Diane Keith for the gift years ago!
  6. Sweet, sleepy dogs that can enjoy a big cozy fire after a hard days work!
  7. Candles!  Not Christmasey ones yet....too early!  Alexaaaa!
  8. That I wake up everyday and know I have the most wonderful family to make my life meaningful and most definitely never boring!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
